SkyWest InFlight Association (SIA) and SkyWest InFlight Management have agreed upon a Memorandum of Agreement which will benefit our Flight Attendants in regards to IROP situations that involve delays greater than 10 hours from the original release of the pairing. This Memorandum of Agreement will be effective Sept. 1, 2018.
This Agreement will give the Flight Attendant options when these type of events occur.
When a flight(s) is/are delayed greater than 10 hours beyond the original release of the pairing for reasons beyond the control of the Company (i.e. weather, maintenance, ATC, duty limits), and requires an additional 10-hour rest period to complete the pairing, the flight attendants will have the following options:
- Continue on the pairing and operate the flight(s) back to the original destination.
- The flight attendant will be paid time and a half (1 ½) for flight(s) flown or MDG, whichever is greater.
- Be released from the pairing.
- The flight attendant will be given positive space (unpaid) on the first available flight back to the domicile of the original pairing.
With either option, the flight attendant will be paid the original pay value of the scheduled flight (s) for that day.
The MOA was sent to all Flight Attendants, which also included examples/scenarios for more clarification.
SIA continues to work for YOU in making quality of life improvements/enhancements for SkyWest Flight Attendants. This is SIA's second (2nd) improvement/enhancement for Flight Attendants in the past 30 days!
