Why is Ready Reserve still being assigned to flight attendants? The pilots no longer have it. Isn’t this a “us too” issue?
Kristina Siemens
Good morning Mike,
Thank you for the question. Ready Reserves are essential to ensure that our operation functions as well as possible. When it doesn’t, it has the potential to put our contracts in jeopardy which in turn negatively impacts our quality of life, financial bonuses, causes reflows to lineholders, etc.
In regards to pilots not having Ready Reserve, when looking at their current Pilot Policy Manual, SP3018 4. Ready Reserve Assignment, shows they do still have Ready Reserve.

Thank you for your engagement,
Kristina

Hi Kristina,
Thank you for the response. However, I have spoken with several pilots that say they currently have a TA in place where they no longer have stand alone RDY assignments. Along with this, they are also not required to answer their phone in the last two hours of the last day of their reserve buckets. These are QOL enhancements that we would like to see. Please advocate on our behalf.
