COVID-19 MOA Adjustments and Updates

COVID-19 MOA Adjustments and Updates

May 8, 2020 Posted by Wayne SIA News No Comments

We are pleased to announce that the Company has agreed to adjustments to COVID-19 MOAs.  We want to give you important information on the adjustments that were made.

The first update is to the maximum number of hours a Flight Attendant is able to bid for/be awarded in PBS. Per the current MOA, Flight Attendants may be awarded, depending on seniority, up to a maximum of 87 credit hours.  Several flight attendants have requested an increase to the maximum limit in PBS.  SIA and the Company have agreed to increase the maximum limit from 87 credit hours to 100 credit hours for full time and from 43.5 credit hours to 50 credit hours for part time.  We are happy to announce that Flight Attendants will have the option, depending on seniority, to bid down to zero credit or be awarded up to a maximum of 100 credit hours (50 hours for part time Flight Attendants). *If you have questions on bidding strategy to accomplish your desired number of credit hours in the PBS bid, please contact the PBS Helpline during hours of operation by visiting SWOL>Operations>PBS>PBS Helpline and submit a request for assistance.

Second, SIA and the Company have agreed to forgo the quarterly minimum requirements for Full Time and Part Time Flight Attendants with no impact to a Flight Attendants reliability or benefits through Q3 2020. (Previously the MOA for this exception was only effective for Q1 and Q2, 2020).

Lastly, the MOA for Corrective Action Adjustments which allowed the Company or the Flight Attendant to forgo the mandatory face-to-face meeting for a Counseling Statement or Suspension of Duty to discuss all performance and/or behavioral concerns related to the corrective action has been extended through September 30th, 2020. A formal, documented discussion and action meeting over the phone will still be necessary in lieu of the mandatory face-to-face meeting.  *A formal, documented discussion and action meeting for any level of Corrective Action in a face-to-face meeting or over the phone may still be requested at any time by the Company or the flight attendant.

The updated MOA’s will be added to the Flight Attendant Policy Manual and will be available for the Flight Attendants to review on SWOL>Info Center>Documents>Manuals within the next week.
